Outpatient Services The Department of Nutrition and Food Services provides outpatient nutrition services on the hospitals main campus Nutrition experts from the Department of Nutrition and Food Services aid the general public with management of specific dietary needs in many different areas, including cardiac care, diabetes and childhood and adult obesity. They also provide nutritional care and advice about lifestyle maintenance and good nutrition, often through classes available on the hospitals main campus and at community health centers. Nutrition topics include: 1.Eating well when dining out 2.Planning healthy meals at home 3.Feeding people at home with different nutritional needs 4.Heart-healthy eating Members of the community can access these outpatient services by contacting the Department of Nutrition and Food Services. Inpatient Services Good nutrition is a key component of recovering from surgery or illness. The Department of Nutrition and Food Services provides nutrition care, advice and education to patients while they are in the hospital and after they are discharged. Our services are provided by a variety of staff: Registered dietitians work with the patients medical team, providing valuable information regarding appropriate nutrition care. They may also educate patients on nutrient modifications prescribed by the patients physician. Nutrition and food service staff help patients select their daily menus and deliver meals to the bedside Our executive chef and his team work daily to prepare tasty, healthy, appealing foods.

We have latest multipara monitors for invasive and non-invasive monitoring with a central monitor. All the beds are fully equipped with latest monitors, ventilator support, syringe pumps for minute monitoring of small quantity of drugs etc. The Patients These ICUs are capable of treating patients with complex medical problems like septicemia, multi-organ failure (renal failure, respiratory failure, cardiac failure etc.), various types of poisoning, high-risk/complicated surgical patients, road traffic accidents, post renal patients, diabetic complications etc. Academic Program ICU is a very popular specialty for trainee physicians, surgeons and anesthesiologists as the practical skills acquired are transferable to all disciplines. Monthly Grand round with all the speciality consultants is conducted for multidisciplinary medical management of patient. Our multidisciplinary ICUs have a basic introductory program for the rotating residents of the hospital. These programs include lectures, symposiums, case discussions, CMEs and extensive clinical exposure in ICU setup.

Recognizing the central role that Surgical Oncology plays in the primary treatment of solid tumors and its scholarly contribution to understanding their behavior, the Oncosurgery at Pawana Hospital, Pune has established Surgical Oncology services, one of the first of its kind in the Maval region. The department has a team of experienced surgeons who are dedicated to the pursuit of excellence in patient care, research, and education in the field of Surgical Oncology. Through the combination of a distinguished multi-disciplinary faculty, programmatic research, and a unique computer database, Surgical Oncology is ideally positioned to help patients in advanced management of cancers. Surgical Oncology includes surgeons trained in Oncology surgery from all surgical specialities .The faculty has organized the department under various region specific areas which has enabled patients to receive the very best in treatment. Hospital also provide tertiary level post operative care for patient of advanced stage cancer both medically & surgically. We also operate low economic patients of cancers of different varieties under RGJAY scheme of government of Maharashtra.

ENT services are available both IPD and OPD basis and is fully equipped to meet all the routine and emergency work. Sinus, Larynx, Ear, Nose surgeries are carried out regularly. Functional Endoscopic Sinus Surgery (FESS), diagnosis and surgery for vertigo (giddiness) and prompt management of Epistaxsis are few additional highlights of the department. Besides these we provide Diagnosis Audiometry services for patients of hearing loss and also rehabilitate the impairment by providing modern in the canal hearing devices. These hearing aids are provided free of cost after initial work up to low income families under Rajiv Gandhi Jeevandai Arogya Yojana , till date we have provided 1500 hearing aid to patients throughout Maharashtra.

CARDIO THORACIC AND VASCULAR SURGICAL UNIT (CVTS) Today with the rising Globalization and stressful lifestyle there is rising trend in patients with ischemic heart diseases (IHD), Unstable angina, Myocardial infarction and cardiac co morbidities.Urban population is at a greater risk due to their busy lifestyle but now the amount of cardiac morbidities in rural population is also showing an upstroke. With this scenario in mind Pawana Hospital established the first Cardio Thoracic and Vascular Surgical unit (CVTS) in August 2014 after establishing Cathlab. This was a pioneering project as it was the first cardiac surgical unit in the Maval Taluka.It has proved to be a boon for patients with Triple vessel cardiac disease, valvular heart diseases and patients with septal defects. Till date we have successfully operated more than 150 cardiac patients not only from the surrounding Maval area but also from different Districts in the entire state of Maharashtra. We have operated many low economy patients under RGJAY scheme of Govt. of Maharashtra from different areas of Maharashtra like Satara,Beed,Solapur,Ahmednagaretc. Cardiothoracic and Vascular Services 1.
